Blog Packin’

If you’re reading this post through the EVE Blog Pack, you might be wondering who the impostor is. Don’t be alarmed. I know we’re all used to New Eden’s rampant political drama, but I can assure you, this is not a coup.

I’m just Rettic, and I’m humbled to share with you all that godfather of EVE blogging, Crazy Kinux, has accepted me into the ‘pack. It truly is an honor. I started writing this blog, the week I began my trial account, because I was inspired to see such a thriving and self-sustaining community around the game. And one of its most apparent manifestations, to me, is this feed.

No other MMO, that I’m aware of, can claim a player base that has taken such initiatives to elevate discussion about the game they love. Thanks to all of the blogging community (that’s the whole blog roll), EVE has stepped out of the bounds of simply being “multiplayer” and into the realm of spawning a genuinely unique culture. We’ve taken the sandbox out of the game, and not even CCP can claim that as their own doing.

So with that in mind, I accept the responsibility of meeting the standards set by veterans of the blog pack, and I look forward to further contributing to the good times.

For those that don’t know me, take a moment to read the about The Chronofile. It should give you a sense of what you’ll find, and what you won’t, in my posts. You can get a sample of some of my personal favorite articles here, check out my ongoing list of resources for new players, or catch up on the few in-character accounts of Rettic—with plans for many more in the near future. All of these links can also be found in the footer.

And, If you want to join in on a lot more discussion, join the Tweet Fleet and follow me on Twitter (I’m so glad that stupid name is catching on).

Otherwise, I hope you don’t mind another addition to your feed clutter. I’ll try to keep it worthwhile. Cheers.
