Olafsson on…Ambulation?

A supposedly recent interview Olafsson at MMORPG.com asks the senior producer how “Ambulation” is coming, and the answer is definitely interesting. I can only assume that they aren’t referring to it as Incarna because the interview was conducted before the name change announcement. But regardless of what it’s named, there is one particular part that got my attention:

You are almost god-like in how your ship is an extension of your mind and your will. That is the background. That is who you are. So for you to leave that ship and be thrown on the floor of a smelly, stinky, space station being nothing more than a weak human frail piece of flesh is both revolting to you and humiliating. So what is driving you to go into the stations is you go in there to do stuff which cannot register on any network, on any electronic communication network at all. So your reason for going into the space station is to go offline basically. So that is going to be the interaction with people in the dark smelly stations.

So am I reading this right? I understand not seeing a HUD when walking in stations, but this makes it seem like there will be no interstellar chat available, no access to the market, etc. I suppose it’s a good way to combat people staying in stations all the time, but there better be plenty of other things to do or Incarna might actually be as pointless as some suggest.

Though I’m more inclined to think there’s still more to this story. Come on Fan Fest. Bring us some Incarna news.
