Maintenance and Progress

Last night I finally had a large block of time (ie. the whole night) to fly, and I decided to take advantage of every minute. While I was really hoping for some fleet action, Providence was unusually quiet and it seemed like the few reds that were slipping through were going unbothered for the most part.

Right about the time I was giving up on finding a fleet, one of our XO’s signed in and asked if I was up for a Jump Bridge tour. I’d been needing to complete my bookmarks of CVA and Paxton’s network in our end of Providence for quite a while, so over the next hour or so we marked up the map while doing some small talk about PVP. Was glad to mark it off the checklist.

Still no fleets were forming up, so I decided to jump to an implant-free clone I left in Wicked Creek months ago and hightail it to empire space for some skill book shopping. It’s another chore I’ve been needing to do for too long, so it was nice to get it out of the way. I tucked my tail between my legs and sped through Catch as fast as I could in my shuttle, running through two gate camps with relative ease (bitches!), before finally landing at Amarr.

It was interesting to visit this landmark, which CCP obviously spent a little extra time distinguishing it from other stations with its surrounding golden fog and bronzed monument welcoming each pilot. Makes me wonder how they’ll render the extra large planet it’s orbiting in Dominion, which I’m guessing is Amarr Prime.

For the next hour or so, I scoured my skill plans for each and every book I still needed to make some T2 ships and Sniper fits happen—including Covert Ops, Interceptors, Hybrid Weapon Rigging, Trajectory Analysis, and Small/Medium Blaster Specialization—and installed a full set of +3 implants in the clone. I spent quite a pile of bones in the end, but it was necessary.

Doing this really brought it home that over the next month or so my game is going to change pretty dramatically as a slew of T2 options finally open their doors to me. Though I didn’t see much action, it was still a welcome night of relative success.
